Project dates: Year round. Saturdays are preferred for arrivals but you can choose any date.

Arrival airport: Jaipur Airport (JP).

Accommodation: Local host family and groups in a youth hostel.

Meals: All meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).

Airlines: Jet airways, Spice jet, Etihad, Indigo, Go Air, Air India etc. Check for cheap flights.

Vaccinations: Routine Vac, Hep-A and Typhoid

Project Background

Nursing and medical background volunteers are much needed our YTA supported and associated slum clinic and another public/community health center. Both of the projects are for poor and marginalized and middle class segment patients, who can’t afford big hospitals healthcare bills. 

​The slum clinic is established in the center of Jagatpura slums that is around 8 kilometers from the volunteers accommodation. The doctor who is running the clinic is doing it from last 07 years. The clinic has a limited staff and there is always a need for the volunteers to help him in healthcare and medical assistance to the patients on a daily basis.

​The another project is situated in a residential area of Jaipur called Mansarovar at a distance of around 12 kilometers from the volunteers accommodation. There are several departments and doctors helping the patients in various diseases. The volunteers can have the opportunity to learn about the Indian healthcare system and medicine procedure here and also helping the doctors in various tasks.

As a volunteer, your duties are as follows:

  • Shadow doctor.
  • Helping nursing staff in taking blood samples, blood pressure, sugar check-ups*.
  • Helping in first aid, vaccinations*.
  • Helping patients in walking, assisting and visiting.
  • Visiting households and taking data of nutrition, healthcare, mother care etc.
  • Healthcare campaigns like AIDS/HIV, Tuberculosis, Girl child encouragement.
  • Patients counseling*.
  • Medical check-up camps in schools, orphanages and other centers*.
  • Other duties assigned by the project management.


Imp: *Some of these tasks are limited for the medical/nursing background volunteers and rest are for all to do. We request medical/nursing background volunteers to bring their ID cards.

You will be working on the projects from Monday to Friday and weekends are free. On weekends you can visit the numerous heritage sites of Jaipur, such as touring the magnificent city itself, painted entirely in pink! Enjoy famous sites such as the Hawa Mahal (Wind Palace), Jal Mahal (Water Palace), Nahargarh Fort (World`s biggest canon- Jaiban), Amber Palace, and Elephant Village. Take time to explore the local culture, cuisine, customs, architecture, and festivals. There’s always something new to discover in Incredible India!

Namaste volunteer consists of a dedicated team, whose mission is to empower our youth by providing sustainable projects that bring about real change in local communities. Working in social development enables our youth world-wide to successfully face upcoming challenges in their personal and professional lives. We do not charge for volunteering for these causes. The fee covers services you will receive while working on the projects. The fee is as follows:

If you would like to opt for full board services, provided by Namaste Volunteer, the fee is as follow with the services in the fee are mentioned in the list below.

Application fee: US $99
One time application fee for all Jaipur volunteer program is US $99. The application fee is payable only when we find your application suitable and your skills compatible with the project objectives.

Note: After 12 weeks , every week charge will be USD 150

As your application is approved, you will be required to pay the deposit (Application Fee) US $99 in order to secure your place on orphanage work program.
No extra charges or hidden fees.

The following services and components are not included in the program fee mentioned above;

  • Donation to the project. (Optional donations can be as minimum US$ 10 to US$ 50)

  • Travel expenditure to other locations.
  • All other expenses that are not mentioned in “Full Board services” list above.

Namaste volunteer provides a clean, hygienic and safe place to stay for our volunteers in project destinations. In Jaipur we have a dedicated host family cum camp nearby the projects, having a capacity of 8 volunteers at a time. The house belongs to Mr. GP Gupta (a retired central government auditor). He lives with his wife Mrs. Beena Gupta and their two sons. The house has four separate bedrooms, two of which are fully dedicated to our volunteers. These two bedrooms have four bunk beds in total and can occupy eight volunteers together. The following facilities are available in the house:

  • Easy access to market, vegetable stores and city

Important notes about project;

  1. Open for all to join.
  2. The volunteers who has no nursing/medical background, they will be placed in slum clinics and will help the doctors in treatment and at the clinic.
  3. Medical/nursing background is required for those who wish to do hands on experience under a MD/MBBS.
  4. The placements depends on the vacant positions on the projects.
